Point Break - South Australian style
Thankfully the coast of Adelaide hasn’t suffered the damage that the East Coast of Australia has endured. What the weather has brought our way, was days of blustery winds and large swell.
Living at the Village Green, Aldinga, you will be on the very doorstop of some of the best surf in South Australia. At Aldinga Bay you will find generally low swell and low beach breaks, but a hop, skip and jump away, are some epic surf spots that the rest of Australia would be envious of!
Our top three picks along the Fleurieu Peninsula and a short drive from The Village Green:
Beach breaks come from the left and right at Sellicks. Waves are reliable and offer the most fun in the winter months. The Beach is also quite sheltered which makes a great day out for the family too!
You will get a great set at Middleton and all year round as well. Beach breaks are left and right here as well but the exposed point break will give you pretty consistent waves.
Like your left hand reef break? Come to Myponga, a sheltered reef break that offers consistent surf. Although rarely crowded, in can get a bit congested when the surf is up!
Online surf reports will give you more detailed information about the beaches, risks, etc., so bookmark them! You’ll need them if you are making Aldinga your new home.
