This unusually crisp summer weather may not be what we are expecting, but it might just be good for getting on the track and walking without the 40 degree sun following us around.
There are some phenomenal walks around Aldinga and we’ve tested out a couple! Even with the little ones in tow, we managed to cover some stunning ground.
Coast Park Trail
This trail spans approximately 70km of coastline. Not game for the full trek, we walked a portion between Maslin Beach and Aldinga Beach. You can stop as many times as you like and take a break as there are regular beach access points to rest your weary feet. If you time it right, you’ll be ready for lunch at the Star of Greece overlooking Port Willunga. Now that we’ve looked at the menu, Star of Greece is on the ‘to-do’ list, but for now the view of the beach is enough eye candy!
Continue to Aldinga where the trail reveals a view that will inexplicably make you inhale deeply, and lower those tense shoulders. It’s not just beautiful coastline that will increase your well-being, it’s the members of the community you meet along the way that make you want to be neighbours!
Aldinga Scrub Conservation Park
Perfect place for the kids to make noise, find twigs to play swashbuckling pirates, and just take in the local flora and fauna. Sans children? Take the time to unwind and explore the interconnected paths for hours. The view from atop is just wonderful and we think our new residents will appreciate the arrange of delights that living in Aldinga has to offer. We entered the park from the Aldinga access point at Fraser and Dover Street. Finished the walk? Head down to Old Coach Rd. and get yourself refreshed with an array of goodies from Maxwell’s Grocery or Home Grain Bakery.
We look forward to knowing what your favorite trail is!
